Affiliate Disclosure

Open the Atlas may use affiliate links in articles, guides, and recommendations.

An affiliate link is a special link that lets a company know a visitor came from Open the Atlas. If you follow one of these links and make a qualifying purchase, Open the Atlas may earn a commission.

This usually does not change the price you pay.

How We Disclose Affiliate Links

When a page contains affiliate links, we will include a clear notice near the beginning of the article or close to the recommendation.

The notice will explain plainly that Open the Atlas may earn a commission if you make a purchase through one of those links.

Recommendations

The possibility of earning a commission does not guarantee a positive recommendation.

When we discuss a product or service, we try to explain:

  • who it may help
  • what it does well
  • where it may fall short
  • whether a simpler or less expensive option may be better

We will not claim to have personally tested something when we have not.

Other Paid Relationships

Open the Atlas may later use advertising, sponsorships, paid partnerships, or sell its own products or services.

When a paid relationship could reasonably affect how a reader views a recommendation, we will disclose it clearly.
